Blossom House Renovation
LightWorks, Inc. was the lighting consultant for this interesting
project. The Blossom House, built in 1888, was being renovated and
restored. Future tenants are not-for-profit companies seeking space
for both offices and space for entertaining/fundraising. The design
focused on sensitivity to the historic nature, but introduced a
contemporary concept. The new lighting scheme provides quality light
for productive work environments while being flexible and layered
enough for entertaining. Complex dimming systems as well as daylight
harvesting for energy conservation were integral portions of the
design.
Proctor and Gamble Shopper's Institute
LightWorks collaborated with architects and retail strategists for
this state-of-the-art institute for Proctor and Gamble. The facility
will be used as a learning tool for merchandisers. The lighting
aided in the presentation of the corporate image. Lighting design
features included a domed ceiling with integral accent fixtures
and flexible display lighting for a continually revolving merchaniding
layout. Sophisticated dimming systems to create mini 'shows' and
add drama to the presentations was carefully coordinated. Overall,
creative use of fixture selection and applications along with engineered
control systems worked harmoniously to create the desired effects.
