Allyson Evans, LEED AP, Lighting + Electrical Designer, began her design career in 1997 after graduating from the University of Kansas with a degree in Architectural Engineering and emphasis in Lighting Design. She believes that architectural illumination must not only be functional, but creative, ergonomic and environmentally conscious. This philosophy is reflected throughout her diverse resume of projects in areas of hospitality, entertainment, and healthcare. Ms. Evans begins the design process by studying both daylight and electric lighting needs of the space and how those elements affect the emotions of the end user. She then integrates energy efficient and environmentally friendly luminaires and daylight controls that will accentuate and compliment the overall architectural statement.

Allyson is fluent in computer aided rendering and calculation programs such as AGI, Visual, and Aladin as well as Photoshop. She is also well versed in LEED requirements and documentation for lighting credits. In addition, Allyson has experience working in a manufacturing firm which provides her an understanding of luminaire and reflector design and resulting photometrics. This knowledge allows her to add affordable, custom fixtures to many of her projects. Prior to joining Lightworks in 2003, Allyson managed multiple large projects while acting as principal lighting and electrical designer for Randall Lamb in San Diego, California.
